Founded in 2017, Expedition Motor Company was born from a deep passion for the vintage G Wagon. Our journey began when our Founder, Alex, embarked on a personal project to restore a couple of 250GD Wolfs. He quickly realized the challenges involved, given the scant information and few high-quality examples restored at the time. Once completed, these builds revealed one of the most unique convertible driving experiences in the automotive space, spurring Alex to cater to a niche market of individuals looking for a rare, collector-grade Mercedes 4x4.
Since then, EMC has restored and delivered approximately 160 builds globally with each G being an evolution of the one before. This specialization has positioned us as industry leaders in vintage convertible G Wagons, particularly the Wolf. We now accept 24 250GD commissions each year.
Our restoration process is not only efficient but highly specialized, ensuring each Custom G Wagon reflects the highest standards of quality. We have pioneered the integration of modernized features into these historic vehicles, including upgraded engines, proprietary suspension systems, enhanced brakes, and a redesigned interior equipped with air conditioning, a Harman sound system, and wireless Apple CarPlay. Many of these upgrades require custom fabrication or 3D printing to achieve a seamless, OEM-like integration. Commissioning a Custom G Wagon
To explore customization options available, you can visit our Custom G Wagon Wolf Builder. Here you will find the different customization options available for the EMC G Wagon. Our clients are able choose everything from exterior color to the stitching on the transmission shifter. The process begins with a 30% deposit to secure a build slot which then leads to creative meetings to finalize specification. Interior color and stitching is chosen from a swatch book that gets delivered after receipt of the first deposit. At the time of writing, build times are 4.5 months for a standard diesel build, 5.5 months for a turbodiesel build, and about 7 months for a LS3 V8 build. We offer complimentary enclosed shipping to your home or a in-person delivery at our HQ in Frenchtown, New Jersey.
