EMC – August 2025: Things To Come

August has been a productive month at Expedition Motor Company. With several client commissions approaching completion, preparations underway for Car Week 2025, and continued development on our long wheelbase 250GD platform, the workshop has remained steadily focused.

Client Commissions Nearing Completion

Mercedes Cabrio G Wagon Restoration

We’re in the final stages of a few client builds and are looking forward to sharing photos and specifications soon. Each commission is a reflection of its owner’s vision, and it’s always rewarding to see that vision come to life while bringing a Mercedes-Benz 250GD back to form.  We continue to enjoy the process of tailoring each custom G Wagon to suit the needs and preferences of its owner.

Car Week 2025

Its that time of year again. This year, we’ll be attending Monterey Car Week 2025 with one of our OM605a Turbodiesel builds—finished in Racing Green with a Chestnut interior. We’re looking forward to participating in one of the industry’s most respected gatherings and connecting with others who share an appreciation for purpose-built vehicles and thoughtful craftsmanship.

Long Wheelbase Development

Long Wheelbase 250GD

Our team has also continued work on the long wheelbase variant of the 250GD. Much of the engineering and design language we’ve developed over the years has carried over, making this new version feel familiar while offering additional versatility. It’s a strong option for those who appreciate the EMC Wolf but require or prefer more interior space.

We’ve enjoyed the process of adapting our framework to this platform and look forward to sharing more as the build gets closer to completion.

Looking Ahead

As we move through the second half of the year, our focus remains on the work, restoring and refining the Mercedes W461, one build at a time. Whether it’s a traditional OM602-powered Wolf, an OM606-equipped variant, or something more unique like a 620GE G Wagon, our approach remains consistent: authentically restoring 1990s G Wagons at the highest level for the modern driver.

For those interested in a Mercedes 250GD for sale or learning more about our process, we invite you to explore our current classic Mercedes convertibles, spec a custom G Wagon, or reach out to us directly.
