This 1992 commission came together around a clear and consistent specification. Vesuvio Gray on the exterior — a deep, shifting silver that changes character in different light, with a suite of bespoke details that set it apart from our standard program.
The most distinctive exterior choice on this build is the body-matched wheel arches. Our standard configuration finishes the arches in black to match the trim. Here, they were painted in Vesuvio Gray to match the body, giving the truck a more continuous, unified profile. Type 461 wheels and 33-inch tires complete the exterior, sitting wide and well-proportioned beneath the gray bodywork.

The EMC bullbar at the front is finished in black, an intentional contrast against the body color which pairs naturally with the utilitarian character the vintage convertible Mercedes platform was designed around.

The 620GE designation means an LS3 V8 under the hood: 430 horsepower paired with a 6-speed automatic. The history of the G-Wagon is rooted in simplicity and mechanical honesty, and the LS3 fits that ethos well. It is reliable, broadly supported, and delivers strong torque across the rev range. On the road it makes the 1990s G-Wagon platform feel genuinely capable at highway speeds without stripping out the analog character that defines the driving experience.
The interior is the most distinctive aspect of this build. Sweetgrass upholstery with Olive Green cloth inserts is a combination that has not appeared in our program before. The cloth inserts add texture and warmth to the cabin, and the Olive reads well against the Sweetgrass base without overpowering it. Dark stain AAA European Oak trim runs throughout.

The second feature worth noting is the second row bench seat. Most EMC Wolfs leave the shop with 2 rear bucket seats similar to the front driver and passenger setup. This commission specified a proper rear bench, bringing the custom G-Class to a five-person configuration while keeping the cabin feeling purposeful rather than crowded.

A well-resolved private commission. The body-matched arches, bespoke cloth inserts, and rear bench each reflect specific choices by the client. Together, they produce a vehicle that sits comfortably within the EMC program while being distinctly its own.
